Students will research for the business they choose and write a research paper. They will create a basic framework of a business plan and research a variety of different types of businesses. We will also look at the steps you take to startup a business, decide if they will sell a product or service, business expences for the initial startup, and business vocabulary.

In this module, the students will learn about graphic design for their business. They will create a business logo, business card and will learn about the different types of advertisements.

The focus of this assignment will be on budget, income and the stock market. The students will create a budget for a 6 month period of income and expences for their business. They will also use a variety of formulas in a spreadsheet for calculations. We will also focus on stock market and how it relates to businesses.

This lesson focuses on persuasive writing which will be used in a TV commercial. The objective will be to identify target audiences for their product or service. A video recorder will be used to record the commercials and Garageband will be used to create a lead-in, lead-out for the commercial. Students will learn about a variety of techniques used in creating a good commercial, testimonials, slogans, celebrity endorsements, and visual/aural techniques.

In the audio broadcasting module, students experience the important medium of radio and produce a radio broadcast. There are a lot of audio broadcasting vocabulary words that will be introduced to the students. The students will write an audio broadcast for the project and then record it with an audio recorder.

Students will learn the importance and roll of computers in running their business. They will also learn about computer hardware, technical specifications of computers to fit their needs of the business, different types of computers, and following a budget for their computer purchases.
