Word Processing
The students will:

Nicine/Apostles Creed - Copy and paste both prayers on a Microsoft Word document. One on the right and one on the right. Change the Nicine Creed prayer to red and the Apostles Creed to blue.
Symmetry Project. The students take their picture with the camera on their computer. Then they copy the picture into Powerpoint. They split their picture in half so they have two right sides and two left sides and a normal picture and a reflection. They will finish with a total of four pictures that each look very different.

The student will:

Spreadsheet
The students will:
interpret data in a graph or chart
label chart titles and axes
format charts
create a data table with multiple rows and columns
enter simple data and labels in a workbook
use the Sum function to add values
enter simple formulas: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
create a variety of charts or graphs
use cell referencing in formulas and functions
perform fill series functions using select criteria
copy a chart or graph into another document
copy formulas within a spreadsheet using relative cell reference
copy formulas within a spreadsheet using absolute cell reference
Chart of the students favorite sports teams. Students practice making charts, adjust cell size, font color, cell borders and colors etc..

Database
The student will:
use prepared electronic databases such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, catalogs, etc.
employ search strategies (subject trees, keywords, table of contents) to retrieve information from prepared electronic databases
sort information alphabetically and/or numerically by field in a prepared database
create a simple database to enter and manage information
define fields and records in a database
sort and filter data with various criteria
filter data using Custom Filter (MS Excel)
merge database records with word processing document
Students will look up technology terms in an online computer dictionary (webopedia.com). Words include server, input, output, network, FTP and virus. |
Keyboarding
The student will:
use QWERTY keyboard method to learn number and symbol keys
use advanced keyboarding functions: Ctrl (apple key) A, S, P, C, X, V
key from an edited rough draft using QWERTY method
compose a document as you key (at the keyboard)
enter numbers using 10 -key
develop keyboarding proficiency. 7th –-
30 Words Per Minute with 85% Accuracy
Students go to typingtest.com once a quarter to record their typing scores with an online typing test to track their progress.
Students practice on a regular basis with a typing program called Type to Learn 3. When they complete all of the 25 lessons, their typing chart is printed out and taken home. A typing certificate is given to students at the end of the year to award their typing progress. |
Multimedia/Presentation
The student will;
share an electronic creation
plan and create a multimedia presentation incorporating text, images, and slide transitions (PowerPoint and Kid Pix)
use space and design elements to enhance slide/presentation
animate elements: text, objects, slides, etc.
incorporate sound into a presentation
Students make a Powerpoint presentation on the Revolutionary War,
the bill of rights and the constitution. Presentations will include
slides, transitions, animations, sound, creative backgrounds and
